I think I may have the onset of Cambie Pox. My first version is here and I have made another!
I love the pattern and had to make another one. One of the local shops had a great sale and I picked up a fabric my favourite 50s repro designer, Vivien of Holloway, uses! It just had to be snapped up!
Now this time I lowered the waist a tiny bit and added a quarter of an inch to the bodice pieces.
This may have been a slight downfall as the fabric has stretch in it and it feels a little loose around the waist.
However putting it on the next day I love it! It is perfect for one of the weddings I am invited to this year and I hope to wear it out on a nice summer day too!
(if these ever come back to the UK)
Another success while making this one was that the invisible zipper foot worked!! What I did not do properly was to press the zipper teeth away properly before as I was too scared to melt it. So do not be scared but just press!
I just love the feel of this fabric! It is quite luxurious!
Now I need to re focus and actually make things and not get overwhelmed with more and more project ideas.

That is so gorgeous! Live that fabric and the fit looks great on you. Isn’t the Cambie Pox a grand thing to be suffering from?
it is indeed!
It does just create lovely new dresses as a side effect so I can happily live with that!
hehe thank you! I wasnt too sure on it before but love it now! Cant wait to wear it to the wedding I am going to soon!
Brilliant fabric, love it!
And it doesn’t look too loose at all – in fact, it looks super cute!
awww thank you! I do feel more comfortable. I think it was the girly print that made me a bit uncomfortable before.
LOVE that fabric! Perfect for a Cambie. You look great in it!
aw thank you!
Your version is beautiful! I love this dress pattern, it’s cleverly thought and the pockets are such a bonus!
I know, which makes it so addivtive to make! I feel like the dresses feel sturdy and well made too even if you are only a beginner like me.
such a clever pattern design!
It’s very cute! Love the fabric!
Thank you!
I am very happy with it! Another sewing skill point added
So pretty!
Thank you
I bought a summer pattern and material in July and I got it cut out but still haven’t sewn it…OMG how do you stay on track….I got too many things going. I love that fabric.
aww thank you! I try but there are so many things just lying around too! I have a cape half cut, another macaron dress, 3 patterns to trace and decide fabric on, the bombshell dress is eagerly waiting. argh. so many things and so little time
What a pretty dress. The fit is very flattering on you. I hope you get a lot of wear out if it before the weather turns!
aww thank you!
yeah same here! praying for sun!
Your dress is so pretty.
thank you!
i love the fabric just wasnt sure about it on me at first but cant wait to wear it out
You look great in that dress! Love the fabric and the pockets – always gotta have pockets! And I love that you have flats on. It always seems like everyone has heels on and I can’t walk in heels, so it’s nice to see someone else in flats.
oh i own one pair of heels, hoping I can learn to walk in them. never happeend so they are going on ebay! I just do not have the balance or ankle strength for heels.
Wow looks gorgeous! All the Cambie dresses I’ve seen have turned out so well. I bought the pattern but haven’t made mine yet. Still got some time before summer arrives here though…
awesome! we have the first day of autumn tomorrow … although it already feels like autumn today!
guess I will wear mine with a cardi!
You should so make it! The instructions are great and if you are confused (like i was) look on sewaholic.net. It has some great posts around making the cambie!
It’s gorgeous! Love the fabric.
thank you! I am only now starting to wear it for some reason. guess it is the dull weather. need to inject some colour!
