sorry it is going to be a short and possibly badly formatted post. Still on phone only. But just had to share my newest make with you!
I have never licorice which may be why I didn’t like the Colette patterns licorice from the handbook at first.
But when I looked at my stash from the Walthamstow trip this one inspired me to make thess:

The sleeves with the elastic didn’t inspire me so I just hemmed them.
It sort of is a wearable muslin. I have a fitting issue on my arm scythe. Will have to read up on that.

Otherwise I created a lapped zipper … Why? Don’t ask. I messed up the invisible one and this is what happened.
Also it isn’t lined as I had nothing suitable to line it with.
Next time I will make it longer. I had already added 2 inches but 2 more would be perfect.

It looks really great!
I love the sleeves like that – inspired! And perfect fabric. Love it. Was not even tempted to make that dress til now!
The way you arrange the fabric make looks very cool.
Thank you! I think it can still be improved if I thought more about the pattern to match it up.
Psst- favorite licorice ever! I love what the print does to the shape- it’s lovely!
Awww thank you! Yeah when I imagined both together I hoped they would compliment each other. Glad you think so too.
Gahhh! I love this dress….and literally just lent out my copy of the book 20 minutes ago. Perfect choice for your fabric.
Thank you! I never thought I would make this, was so inspired by the fabric and gave it a go.
